Built for Port Moody yards

Made for West Coast weather

West Coast rain is hard on wood, especially in yards shaded by tall evergreens, where fences and decks stay damp longer. That’s why we build with quality cedar from Pitt River Lumber. Cedar naturally resists rot, and we can add a stain for extra protection. For a deck that needs less upkeep, we’re a certified installer of Trex, TimberTech and Fiberon composite decking.

Building on a slope

Hillside lots are common in Port Moody, from Heritage Mountain and College Park to Glenayre and Pleasantside. On a slope, fence panels are stepped or angled so they stay even, with only a small gap underneath, and a deck often needs taller posts, solid footings and stairs that suit the grade. We place and size every post and footing to suit your slope and soil, so your fence or deck stays level and solid for years.

Working around big trees

Tall cedars and firs fill many yards here, and the City protects a lot of them. Removing a tree 30 cm or wider at chest height needs a Tree Management Permit, and protected native species such as Pacific dogwood and arbutus need one from 10 cm. Building close to a protected tree can also need a permit, and we’re happy to help you work out what applies. View City tree permit rules.

Good to know

Before you build

Most fences in Port Moody don’t need a building permit, but the City’s Zoning Bylaw sets how tall they can be. For example, a pool fence must be at least 1.22 m (4 ft). Decks, retaining walls and larger sheds may need a permit, depending on their size. We’ll go over what applies to your property at your free estimate, and we always recommend confirming your property line before a new fence goes in.

I had Logan build a retaining wall and deck on a terraced back yard. I’m a tradesman and I was impressed. Looks better then even I could have imagined. Solid work!
– JL
Logan and his team recently installed our backyard fence and did an outstanding job. The craftsmanship was excellent, and they worked efficiently and professionally throughout the project. When an unexpected challenge came up, Logan handled it with ease and found a smart solution without missing a beat. We’re so pleased with the final result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others.
